After The Local Elections

E-mail Print PDF

We have completed the local elections which is a long term impact on our daily lives and through the media. Each day's evening news, which in the region who earn close to how powerful and who have passed on the discussion. News of our political leaders miss a dose of serious style sense, and start with the simple view of the quarrel was over.

Especially irritating, which were excessive election campaign. Purpose and walks during convoy live beyond the election for any health or safety issue, financial and moral sense could cause serious damage. Up to this and similar behavior in some maganda raise blood pressure in the region, such as selection of ugly events caused to happen. Now everyone expressed how the emerging results, and writes on a long discussion. I believe that election results should be examined in depth and in which regions of Turkey voters, who or which party, why it should be preferred for the extraction. Turkey's electoral votes how conscious of the fact that once again has put today. This way of thinking we set as any candidate, he or she will be chosen because of our party idea is not correct. The best example of this approach against shown in Adana and Şanlıurfa. Ruling party has been using this approach in this place but they failed.

Voter preferences in Turkey will not change by giving two packages of pasta, a refrigerator and a washing machine also is understood. Turkish people do not sell their votes for money is also understood. Some people who make policy like faction policy can understand that it is not the true way of making policy is thinking that their own public will sell their votes by money. In the other hand under the name of social assistance also exceed the purpose and a second to say that criticism must also turn to the ruling party. State is obliged to take to public social policy services in need in terms of the people but to detect and correct the size of it. I think that the second important warn is given to the political leaders. Ruling and opposition leaders must undestand that their militant speech has no effect on voters. They consider important rather than fight to talk about new projects. There are many important things instead of these but I want to mention and focus on some other topics.

First of all in the field of politics, with the active participation of women can not be a serious step is obvious truth. At this point women are encouraged enough, or not have the courage of their own on this subject. It must be discussed in a serious way. Turkey has 81 cities but only 2 women is the mayor of the city so in the active role of women in politics that clearly show the serious difficulty. In this selection CHP has 45 women candidates, DTP has 41 women candidates and MHP has 38 women candidates. Besides this the ruling party, AKP has 18 women candidates. The ruling party should take more serious steps about active role of women in politics. The smallest group in Parliament, Democratic Society Party’s on the reveals an important sensitivity should show as an example that representation of women.

Secondly, however the young population is nearly two-thirds in our country, young people in politics have a more passive role now, is a serious problem. Political parties produces discourse on youth but they does not give young people the necessary roles. Branches of their youth activities is have no attention. These are must be discussed in a serious way. However select of the age was change by reforms and it get down to age of 25, active participation of young people in politics at the point of serious progress has been recorded is striking. This is about a football field in the sample application can be applied in the political field. Every football team is obliged to keep a player from infrastructure in 18 persons on the staff according to rules. A similar pattern of political party central executive board, the provincial council candidates, the deputy can be applied in the field of candidates and related tasks.

Another important point is what I consider to be ten percent election threshold is applied. Although there is no interest in local elections in Turkey this application I have been thinking in terms of democracy is a big handicap. When we look at the world at this point where the sample can be seen clearly. In Europe the selection threshold not more than 5 percent and no other country which have 10 percent selection threshold except Turkey. Since coming to power of democracy highlighted the Justice and Development Party (ruling party) in this respect it is not wrong to say that ruling party be ploughed. Of course, in this regard no attempt by the opposition parties and especially the main opposition party's social democratic approach has not brought this issue to the agenda. In this fact we can say that ruling party and the main opposition party support each other fecklessly on this topic.

After a local election except general extractions we must think about how much emphasis on the progress of democracy is worth.
