Greek Elections on the Verge of Collapse

Greece has undergone a deep economic crisis since 2009. Bartering and the remigration from cities to rural begin to sweep. Unemployment rate has reached at 22 percent. One–third of the Greece’s population lives below poverty line. The EU and IMF mandated–bailouts out packages offered to Greece in return for austerity measures are having a serious impact on every segments of Greek society. Thus, by early elections Greek people gave a clear message to the traditional political parties. In elections held on Sunday, May 6, the two leading parties of the previous term suffered a defeat. New Democracy has received 18.9 % and PASOK has received 13.2 % of the total votes.

When we are talking about approximately 10.000 years of history, it is impossible to discuss even a small part of it in a 30 minute speech. Thus, I will try to give a brief definition of the term “Balkans , and we will take a little peek into its history, and its position and highlight the most glorious times of Balkan in the history, if we have enough time. Nevertheless, I will also briefly discuss how these nations settled in Balkans, and how the Balkans emerged and its demographics changed throughout the history.

Historical Decision of the Bulgarian Parliament

The National Assembly of Bulgaria affixed to a historical decision in the first session of 2012. The National Assembly adopted a declaration that condemns the assimilation process that was applied as an official state policy towards the Bulgarian Turks by Todor Jivkov, the totalitarian leader of the Communist regime and the forced emigration of 1989. The declaration that was prepared and introduced to the Assembly’s agenda by one of the five blocs, The Blue Coalition led by Ivan Kostov, was discussed at noon time of January 11, 2012 and adopted by 112 affirmative and 3 abstainer votes.

Before to mention the last events, if we give an eye to Kosovo, its history is already very short as governmental, but it is a fact that exist as communal and etnical for a long time. Kosovo announced its independence unilaterally in February, 2008. It stepped from autonomy to freedom…(!) and struggled the transition from “prisoner indepence” to “free indepence” since that day.

1. INTRODUCTION

Migration is an ancient phenomenon of human history. It is defined as the change of one’s living place and social environment for another, unfamiliar community. The purpose of migration may be to improve one’s live opportunities under new conditions, or to escape from economic, natural, political or other pressures.[1] It is a global phenomenon that did not just turn up in the 21st century. Due to economic and security developments migration increasingly creates difficult life situations for the migrants due to ethnical conflicts or restrictive immigration policies.

Firstly, let me introduce Turkey’s Foreign Policy formally in a short way, and later on the details… each country wants to have an influential, a peaceable, and at the same time a powerful view as well. There is no doubt that Turkey already succeeded this more than enough if we consider especially last 10 years over Balkans. The change is felt much more in abroad. All these policy based on to develop old relationship, establish new strategies, and build up consistent neighborliness, and of course to be stable in the aforementioned regions such as primary Balkans, Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia, and neighbors as well. Turkey increases so fast economically and diplomatically in the world as well as it is being influential in its own region, and I will try to explain genuine truths focusing Balkans shortly.
