Eastern Partnership and Azerbaijan Economy

Eastern Partnership (EaP) is an initiative among the European Union, the Eastern Europe countries: Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus, and South Caucasus countries: Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia. EaP has been founded on 7 may 2009 during Czech Republic presidency to European Union with support of 27 member countries and 6 partner countries. Aims of Eastern Partnership are to strength political relations between EU and EaP countries, and integrate EaP countries’ economy to EU. EaP doesn’t promise these countries to be member of EU or not to be.

Historical experience shows that regime change had been experienced in Iran through internal means, as Iran faced with a coup d’état in middle of twentieth with the support of the western powers, particularly the United States and United Kingdom. While looking to the historical development of the importance of Iranian territory from geopolitical and geostrategic point of view, it is certain that Persia had been a center of great game played by Great Britain and Russia. However, these two powers had approached Persia from different motives. Since Great Brain was industrialist state, she looked for alternative markets and raw materials in Persia, while the expansionist movements of agrarian Russia was natural extension in a search of assessing to hot seas toward south.

Food security is a complex of events which provide continuous, long-term and stable picture of the demand of population on food in the frame of standards of definite quality. Existing intensified demand for foods due to increasing number of population, food security, consisting quality, quantity and social-economic aspects, has increased its importance in great manner. Problems which USSR faced in 1960s and Japan faced 1973 in this field again demonstrates the problematic results of non-serious attitude on this field. Since, being one of the priorities of government’s economical policy, guarantee of food security in Azerbaijan, has always been in the center of attitude government.

Khojaly: The Day When All Bets Were Off!

I always say that, the magnitude and importance of Khojaly Tragedy for Azerbaijan is equal to that of 9/11 for Americans. Just like 9/11 when people talk or think about Khojaly they’ll always remember, where they were on that day, how they heard the news, what was their first reaction.
